Description

This is a book for those children who, at the sight of an animal, don't say "how disgusting!", but are fascinated by its anatomy and ask many questions. Why do fish have bones? How do they classify? How do they communicate? How do they breathe? How do they move? How do they look? Barbara Cuoghi, biologist and science teacher, Emiliano Vizzi, an illustrator with a passion for fish and crustaceans, and Lorenza Natarella, cartoonist and colourist, are authors of this new book of Little Naturalists Observers series.

Author

Barbara Cuoghi was born in 1971 in Modena, Italy. A graduate in Biology and Ph.D. in Animal Biology, she has worked for years on teleost and invertebrate neurobiology both at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia and at the University of Bologna. She has carried out research activities in collaboration with national and international university laboratories and has to her credit scientific contributions in national and international journals, as well as a textbook on comparative endocrinology.
In the years 2005 - 2006, he was certified to teach at both first and second grade secondary schools, and since 2007, he has been a tenured teacher of mathematics and science at the first grade secondary school.
During the years of studying for her teaching certificate, Barbara rediscovered her passion for mathematics and the various codes that humans are equipped with, numbers and letters first and foremost, but also notes. The only things she is really good at are learning and swimming.

Emiliano Vizzi
Crustaceans, fish, large cetaceans and sea monsters (real or imaginary) populate the illustrated universe of Emiliano Vizzi, born in 1971.
Graduated from the International School of Comics in Florence, Emiliano has collaborated as a cartoonist with the Livorno-based counter-information newspaper "Senza Soste" and with the famous satirical newspaper "Il Vernacoliere."
A true Livornese and a man of the sea, Emiliano daily "dives" into a sea of India ink, exploring drawn seabeds inhabited by legendary and frightening creatures of the deep.

Lorenza Natarella lives in Milan and works as an illustrator-graphic designer throughout the week. She graduated in Graphic Design & Art Direction from NABA (2010) and soon after attended the MiMaster in Editorial Illustration (2010-2011). She founded together with nine illustrators Studio Armad'illo (2011), where she still works.
