Feature
★ This is a set of books that combines reading and hands-on skills, dedicated to teaching children and teenagers how to use their eyes and hands for creative activities, control their strength and movements, and improve the flexibility of their hands. Occasionally, put down the computer and tablet, and try to do things the old-fashioned way. In fact, just with your own eyes and hands, you can create a wonderful world!
★ The form of this series is closely related to graphic design, and this interrelationship is also reflected in the most intangible aspect of the book, that is, the spirit of the book. In fact, this series has specially invited authors related to creativity, who are constantly exploring in distant and broad fields through various means every day. Their words and pictures aim to encourage children and teenagers to take them as role models and challenge themselves in practice, experimentation, invention, discovery, and games with their own hands, eyes, minds, and wisdom.
This series consists of five books: The Art of Writing, Decorating Everything, Dismantle Everything, Creating Now, Drawing Everything.
Description
★Dismantle everything to understand the principles behind how things work, to learn about the origins and recycling methods of different materials, and to foster a child's curiosity, hands-on abilities, and scientific thinking.
Seven-year-old Linda asked as she took things apart, ‘Did you take things apart when you were a kid?’ ‘Yes, we used to take things apart and have fun!’ We replied. That's how we learnt what a circuit was, how a microphone worked, how to make an electromagnet, and how to use a screwdriver or pliers...
Smonting is a modern adventure in attics, cellars, garages and storage rooms. Things that are no longer needed, forgotten or made obsolete by new technology are discarded in these places and the adventure of dismantling begins. It's a newly coined word that means ‘learning to disassemble and play.’
It's a real manual of practical activities: taking things apart, learning how the world is made, and trying to inhabit it in more interesting ways.
