Description
Therefore, this theoretical-practical manual clearly explains how the human brain processes information, how it constructs memories and how it acquires knowledge through such a valuable instrument as language or the movement of the body itself. A section of practical exercises in each chapter is the strategy to follow in the search for this integral development of the person.
We will discover how memory works and what types there are, as well as what factors can affect a better or worse storage of information or retrieval of memories. It is also important to know what the most common memory disorders are, such as age-related memory loss, amnesia or Alzheimer's disease, in order to be able to rule out and/or prevent their occurrence. Similarly, learning mnemonic rules and doing the practical exercises proposed at the end of the chapter will help us to boast a good memory.
Although this is the most extensive section, it cannot be conceived without the next one: learning, since one and the other are intimately associated. Understanding some neuroscientific aspects such as brain plasticity and getting to know the different rhythms and styles of learning is the way to acquire knowledge in the safest and most effective way. However, making this learning effective is impossible without taking into account its main vehicle: language and its manifestations in reading and writing, and the study of psychomotor skills as another element in the development of cognition.
