Description

In recent decades, a giant leap has been made in the field of early childhood education, reversing the general philosophy of the parent-child relationship. From the old beliefs based on discipline, punishment and distancing from affection, we have moved on to what is known as respectful parenting, a method that is based on emotional education and which attends to the needs of children according to their stage of development, always based on understanding and empathy.
This book guides parents and educators from birth, explaining step by step how to establish a secure attachment, which are the best sensory and psychomotor stimuli, how to teach children to regulate themselves emotionally, how to establish healthy social interactions, how to help them discover their own identity by reinforcing their self-esteem and how to deal with extraordinary situations that require a specific adaptive process, such as death, the arrival of a sibling or separation from parents.
All of this with a single goal: to know that this little person will grow up feeling secure, will mature in the knowledge that he or she is valuable and will become a balanced and happy adult.

We must begin by breaking the myths that have been maintained for generations without any basis: ‘love is enough’, ‘you have to be the perfect parent’, ‘you have to let him cry’, ‘without punishment it doesn't work’, etc., to focus on a new educational style that respects the evolution of children, which places the adult as a figure of trust who establishes positive discipline, guiding the child in his or her formative process.
From the first basic care at birth, which not only focuses on physiological needs, but also raises the beginning of cognitive and motor needs, sensory and language development, as well as social and psychological needs, it moves on to a study of what is meant by a secure attachment in which the child trusts that his or her emotional needs will be met. Little by little, each chapter guides us theoretically and also with a practical part in which dynamics and games are proposed to strengthen this bond, encourage sensory and motor stimulation, teach them to regulate themselves emotionally, encourage curiosity, exploration, social skills, responsibility, self-esteem and autonomy.
