Author
Iban Barrenetxea (1973) is an author and illustrator from the Basque Country in Spain. He worked for a decade in the field of graphic design before turning to illustration in 2010. Nevertheless, writing is another one of his great passions and he has authored many children s books, such as Brujarella (Thule), Andanzas de un flautista llamado Tristrás ( The Adventures of a Flutist Called Tristras , Nórdica) or El único y verdadero rey del Bosque ( The One and Only King of the Forest , A Buen Paso), which won the Fundación Cuatrogatos award. In fact, he has received great recognition for his work both national and internationally, including the Euskadi award for children s literature and being included in the prestigious White Ravens list in 2014.
