Description
This book tells the story of the protagonist, musician Oliver, who finally understands "what jazz is" through continuous exploration. Author
Graduated from the Department of Chemistry at Boston University, USA. Later studied piano technology at the North Bennet Street School and the Oberlin Conservatory of Music in the USA, earning an Artist Diploma. As a Registered Piano Technician (RPT) with the Piano Technicians Guild, he has worked for the Juilliard School in New York, the Aspen Music Festival, and the Boston Symphony Orchestra's Tanglewood Music Festival.
Currently works at the Instrument Management Center of the Central Conservatory of Music. Co-founded the "Jazz Chinese Writing Society" website and the "Improvisation" WeChat public account. Other works have been published in "Music Map" (Shanghai Symphony Orchestra Cultural Development Foundation), "Olive Classical Music," "Digging Fire Network Journal," and "Popular Songs," among other publications.
Xiao Duzi (Illustrator)
Illustrator, artist, picture book creator.
Graduated with a degree in Illustration from the University of Brighton, UK. After returning to China, works as an independent art creator exploring illustration expression and artistic creation. Works have been published in the French magazine "Karbone Magazine - Instinct" and the Taiwanese publication "dpi Design Illustration." Works have been selected for the American Illustration AI42 (2023), the World Illustration Awards (UK, 2021), and Hiii Illustration (2021).
Has held solo exhibitions: "They talk to me" (2022), "Story" (2021), "Seeing the Unseen – Original Illustration Exhibition by Xiao Duzi" (2020), "Growth – Solo Hand-drawn Works Exhibition by Illustrator Xiao Duzi" (2018). Collaborative publishing projects include "Dubliners" and "The Red and the Black," and has published the illustrated book "Grandpa's Secret Theater."
