Feature
★ Created by emerging illustrator and full-time mother Cai Qingling (Leng Chua) based on the practical needs of her own daughter's piano learning. The content is practical and easily teaches music note knowledge.
★ Set as an adventure in the Kingdom of Music Notes, it uses simple lines in red, black, and white to explain the position of notes on the musical staff and piano keys. This approach is more easily accepted by toddlers, allowing children to grasp note names, solfège syllables, and staff knowledge through fun reading.
Description
The little protagonist in the story is taken by a huge, gigantic music note to a mysterious kingdom. Here, there are two black-and-white houses: a big one and a small one. The sounds seem to come from inside. Who lives here? Why do these houses keep making all sorts of different sounds? The little protagonist is curious and begins to explore these two mysterious little houses… In fact, you are that little protagonist. Welcome to the Kingdom of Music! Let the notes introduce themselves and become your good friends!
Author
An emerging designer and picture book creator, currently living in Shanghai, and a mother to a five-year-old child.
I have loved drawing since I was a child. I once dreamed of becoming an artist one day—holding my own art exhibition, publishing my own picture books, and having people see and enjoy my work. When I grew up, I became a graphic designer. I once drew storyboards for TV commercials and designed jewelry. Later, I had a child and became a full-time mom. During this time, besides accompanying my child's growth, I was also constantly searching for myself.
In 2020, the pandemic arrived. My three-year-old daughter felt very lost; she missed the happy times outdoors. So, I started designing toys and used cardboard to make a mini supermarket for her. Her surprised and delighted expression gave me a sense of achievement and motivation to keep creating, helping me find myself again!
“This book was created to help my daughter, who was just starting to learn the piano, recognize music notes. I hope this book can also help more children who love music.
