This is a set of math-themed picture books specially designed for children aged 3 to 6.
The story begins at a tall tower, where Grandpa Nige lives at the very top. He has only one hair on his chin, curled into a tiny spiral—and nobody knows just how long it really is. When a wandering singer pig named Mimu passes by, the story unfolds: 2 little bears, 3 little cats, 4 little rabbits, and so on, all the way to 10 little hedgehogs, appear one after another. As children follow the animals entering the scene, they can visually grasp the concept of numbers arranged from "small to large" and "large to small," easily learning to recognize numbers 1 through 10.

Each volume presents a self-contained fairy tale that naturally embeds a specific math concept within its narrative. Rather than relying on drills or worksheets, the series uses storytelling as the primary vehicle for learning—children encounter numbers, shapes, patterns, and spatial relationships through the adventures of lovable animal characters.

Su Mei
A well-known Chinese children's literature writer and member of the China Writers Association.
