Description
As a doctor and soldier who has served in international missions in Mali and Afghanistan, among other places, Sophia Wilk-Vollmann has helped people who have gone through traumatic experiences and no longer feel at home in their own skin. She questions common ideals of beauty and fights against the stigmatization of those who opt for aesthetic treatments.
Author
She is currently working in academia as a lecturer and researcher in
the fields of emergency and disaster medicine, communication, and
patient safety. Since 2016, she has been working as a doctor at the
German Armed Forces Hospital in Berlin.
