Description

Bringing people together with food
“I have no job and no permanent residence; I’m just passing through. My mission: to use food to inspire people and bring them together.” Antje de Vries has been travelling the world for many years and in her book, she recounts her search for solutions and recipes for a brighter future. She believes; those who cook and eat together, trust each other and thus nurture and foster peace – be it in Colombia’s drug triangle, the Syrian cuisine in Hamburg or the fire kitchens of Sierra Leone. This colorful collage of stories, interactions, places, ingredients and recipes, brings culinary perspectives for a global solidarity and peaceful coexistence.

Author

Antje de Vries was born in 1982 and is a cook and culinary nomad. Today she learns and teaches in kitchens around the world and brings people together as part of the “Kitchen Without Borders” initiative.
