Feature

★The new book series Science on the Move tells the stories of the greatest scientists’ insights and discoveries by traveling to the places where they lived. It’s Andrea—a very curious young girl—who meets physicists, biologists, and mathematicians in the cities where they made their most important breakthroughs. In the first two volumes, Andrea takes us on walks with Galileo and Newton, right where these scientists left their mark, to hear all about their lives, discoveries, and inventions.

This series includes 6 titles:
In Switzerland with Einstein: Andrea Discovers Relativity
In Syracuse with Archimedes: Andrea Discovers Geometry
In Milan with Leonardo: Andrea Discovers Engineering
In Cambridge with Newton: Andrea Discovers Gravity
In Paris with Marie Curie: Andrea discovers radioactivity
In Pisa with Galileo: Andrea discovers the Universe

Description

Andrea embarks on a new adventure, traveling to Switzerland with her aunt, where she meets the great Albert Einstein. He shares with her everything about relativity, his major discoveries, and his life story, also showing her the places where he lived and worked.

Andrea's adventures continue as she travels to Zurich to visit the renowned Polytechnic University. It is here that she meets Albert Einstein in person—in the very classrooms where the great scientist first studied and later taught—and follows him through the streets and cafés of Zurich. But the journey does not end there: Einstein also takes Andrea to Bern, to the patent office where he worked while developing ideas that revolutionized physics. The great scientist shares his life story with Andrea—his journeys from Switzerland to Berlin and then to the United States—as well as his theories, from relativity to the quantum hypothesis.
