Book Synopsis

Description

After the little boy Geon - woo bids farewell to his grandfather, he meets a mysterious cat whose words and deeds are strikingly similar to those of his grandfather! The day he spends with his beloved grandfather, or rather, the "Grandpa Cat", is like a dream. This is a lively, heart - warming yet tear - jerking story dedicated to all those who have experienced the departure of important people.

One day, a brown - yellow cat suddenly appears in the living room of Geon - woo, the protagonist, without any warning. This cat has a round figure and a deep - set expression. It looks very kind, yet somehow exudes a mysterious aura. As soon as it shows up, it claims to be Geon - woo's grandfather. It either yells for the tofu sushi on the dining table or asks someone to pour water, acting as if it owns the place. Geon - woo is initially full of doubts, but as he watches, he actually comes to believe that his grandfather has really returned. Thus, he spends an extremely special day with this "Grandpa Cat".

In the book, the two characters of "Grandpa Cat" and Geon - woo are extremely charming and are the highlights of the entire book. The "Grandpa Cat" is unique with a quirky personality, while Geon - woo is naughty but has a soft and delicate heart. The illustrator uses a highly individualistic brushstroke to vividly portray them, doubling the fun for readers during reading. Under the pen of Ha Min - seok, the "Grandpa Cat" has both the arrogance and aloofness of a cat and the warmth and kindness of a real grandfather. Watching the lovely interactions between the "Grandpa Cat" and Geon - woo, readers will unconsciously be deeply attracted to the story in the book.
