Feature

★ Award-winning picture-book creator Heimi and printmaking artist Wang Jiaming co-created the "Hulu Cat's Whimsical Wonders" trilogy, a set of bedtime picture books made entirely with handmade woodcut prints.
★ Heimi won the Golden Apple Award at the 25th Bratislava International Biennial of Illustration (BIB) for her debut "The Braid", and also received the Chen Bochui International Children's Literature Award.
★ When a pomelo becomes the moon, fireflies become stars, and fresh bread becomes a little sun, small daily moments turn into warm imagination and ordinary things into gentle natural wonders.
★ Detailed handmade woodcuts: cute forms and a spare palette, at once the dream of a fairy tale and the truth of everyday life -- a quality art education for children.
★ It shares the fun of making things by hand, stays close to young children's lives and feelings, and carries friendship, sharing and an optimistic outlook.

Series of three:
"The Bread Is Ready", "The Secret of the Stars", "The Taste of the Moon"

Description

"The Bread Is Ready" , rain threatens Hulu Cat's plan to meet friends, so to chase off the chill he bakes. From weighing flour and yeast, adding sugar and butter, to kneading and waiting, each step carries its own small anticipation; as the loaf swells in the oven, Hulu Cat slips into a bread world of syrupy rain and pulls out a warm sun-loaf, and the rain has stopped. The smell draws his friends through the forest to share it.

"The Secret of the Stars" , an after-dinner walk turns strange when drifting lights reveal a field of fireflies; Hulu Cat lifts one carefully into his paws, and the book leaves the surprise unspoiled.

"The Taste of the Moon" , a golden pomelo bought at the market sounds like tapped wood and smells cool; peeling it sets something unexpected in motion, and the fruit becomes the moon.
