After unifying the six kingdoms, King Ying Zheng established the Qin Dynasty and proclaimed himself Qin Shi Huang (the First Emperor). After becoming the emperor, he accomplished many great things, such as implementing "unified writing" and "unified axle width for carriages", standardizing weights and measures, and establishing the system of commanderies and counties. However, Qin Shi Huang also abused people's power, which led to popular uprisings. The Qin Dynasty, which had been unified for only ten years, fell in 206 BC.
