Feature

★A book co-authored and dedicated to the fascination of prime numbers: the first part, written by the late Ennio Peres, introduces an original theory by Sergio Siminovich. The whole is enriched with curious and stimulating games, ideal for self-challenge.

Description

This book addresses the ancient and mysterious subject of prime numbers from a completely unusual and original perspective. The first part, written by Ennio Peres, analyzes mathematical reasoning with cheerful and captivating rigor, also providing a great variety of curious and engaging games. The second part, written by Sergio Siminovich, analyzes mathematical reasoning with an approach reminiscent in part of that of Ramanujan, the Indian mathematician of the late 19th century who stated his theories without proof. Equally interesting are the game suggestions, even for younger readers. The two authors—the first a mathematician (but also a passionate self-taught musician), the second a musician (but also a passionate self-taught mathematician)—have engaged playfully, celebrating in unison the choice of a title with strong musical significance.
