Tianren, A Xu, Jennie, Ai Fei Xiang, and Yang Juanjuan, five young people, visit the 'Nong Lai Resort,' once the site of a horrific mass death incident and now transformed into the most luxurious resort in Taiwan, yet exuding an air of old corruption, to conduct a live exploration adventure.

As the live broadcast viewership soars, the adventure spirals out of control. In addition to the five being plagued by misfortune, A Xu's mother—the million-viewer live streamer Goddess Maphisi, her stepfather, and sister—are also on the brink of life and death. Will they be bewitched by the continuous "gala, gala" sound of chewing, and thus smile as they gnaw on their own arms, fingers, and shoulders, devouring themselves alive?

The film uses the historical fact of the Thai-Burmese army's withdrawal in 1961 as an entry point. Jiang Taiyu makes the thriller not only highly entertaining but also sharply analyzes the evil that humans cannot resist when pushed to the brink, yet also shows compassion, serving as a reminder to all humanity; humans are good at creating tragedies, and there are some things that must not be forgotten.

Jiang Taiyu

Graduated from the Japanese Department of Fu Jen Catholic University, he is a popular literature writer who began his creation during his university years. He has been awarded the Goldstone Hall Annual Bestselling Male Writer and was selected for the Eslite Bookstore's Top 100 Favorite Novels. He has authored more than ten novels.

He served as the Chief Editor of the "Love Novels" magazine. His short story "The Summer of Tatami" was adapted into the public television movie "Sunflowers in Summer," and his work "Car Wash Family" was a finalist for the 21st Taipei Literature Award (Gold Category).
