Feature

★2023 edebé Award for Children's Literature!
★An endearing and very positive fable about the importance to live and value the many good things of everyday life.

Description

Casildo the rooster has problems. He’s been unemployed for three years, he owes six months’ rent and the only job he’s been offered is giving singing lessons to a group of centenary turtles: the Wonderfuls. But if the turtles can’t sing, what will people say about him who used to be one of the great opera singers of the past?

They are retired and very old, but their optimism is indestructible. They want to win a musical contest to give the prize to a charitable cause... Although everyone knows that turtles can’t sing, don’t they?

Author

Agustín Sánchez Aguilar (Barcelona, 1971) is a doctor in Hispanic Philology and a specialist in the literature of the Golden Age. He has published more than twenty critical editions of classic works of Spanish literature, belonging to authors as diverse as Don Juan Manuel, Lope de Vega, Bécquer and Galdos. He is the author of numerous versions of classic texts for young readers and of Los dioses y Los cuervos, a work with which he won the XXV City of Badajoz Poetry Prize.

Anna Baquero (Barcelona, 1993) is an illustrator who lives with Greta, a sock-stealing dog. What he likes to do the most is read, or maybe draw, she hasn’t decided yet: what she does know is that making books is the best job in the world. She often cycles through the city and eats surprising amounts of ice cream.
