Review
Shinano Mainichi Newspaper, January 6, 2024: "Introduces a fulfilling 'single' life, savoring the changing seasons at a leisurely pace and holding banquets with friends."
Weekly Shukan Shincho, January 25, 2024 issue: "While maintaining a mysterious sense of distance, the affection for the land and people is quietly conveyed, so to speak, making one feel as they read that this is essentially a love letter from Ms. Ueno to the southern slopes of Yatsugatake. As expected, in the postscript, it is written that the partner who fell in love at first sight and lived together turned out to be more charming than imagined, resulting in a delightful mood." By Yoshikazu Sumikawa (Writer and Explorer)
Weekly Post, February 2, 2024 issue: "After fully savoring the pure life in the mountains and closing this book, you will hear Ms. Ueno's voice asking, 'Well, how will you live your old age? '" By Rica Kayaman (Psychiatrist)
Monthly Yamakei, February 2024 issue: "Every time I turn the pages of this book, the fragments of an active rural life, or rather, the cheerful life of Ms. Ueno, come to mind and bring a smile to one's face." By Akio Higuchi (Novelists)
Weekly Bunshun, March 28, 2024 issue: "This is probably the first book by the author that records private matters. The author herself might say, 'I wrote too much,' but the life developed in the mountains is also a guide for those who follow. The illustrations by Harumi Yamaguchi are also charmingly reflected, making it a beautiful volume." By Junko Sakai (Essayist)

The author's first 'mountain living essay collection' is eagerly awaited as a book!
Enjoying the four seasons of scenery and wildflowers, participating in the community of newcomers, savoring local food to the fullest, dealing with unexpected troubles such as battles with insects and septic tank failures, completing work online, considering medical and nursing care resources as a 'final place to live'...
Even things that never appear in magazines recommending mountain living are spoken, Ueno Chizuko's version of 'life in the forest' 24 stories.
My current theme is 'Until the end in the beloved Kitadu'.
Of course, 'even alone' is added.
