Description
The epic is divided into prologue, main body and epilogue. The prologue serves as an introduction to the epic, which says that the Pumi people should not forget their hero Zhisa Jiabu. The main body of the epic consists of six cantos. Canto 1 is about how Zhisa Jiabu was brought up by his aunt. Canto 2 describes Zhisa Jiabu’s wish to know the whereabouts of his parents and how he used a clever plan to make his aunt tell the stories of his parents. Canto 3 tells the story of how a unicorn brought calamities to Zhisa Jiabu’s neighborhoods and how Zhisa Jiabu’s father died when he tried to kill the monster. Canto 4 tells the story of the demon kidnapping Zhisa Jiabu’s mother. Canto 5 is about how Zhisa Jiabu trained hard and then killed the monster after a tough fight and he got revenge for his father. Canto 6 describes how Zhisa Jiabu found his mother and killed the demon with help from his mother. In the epilogue, it is pointed out that the Pumi people will never forget their own hero Zhisa Jiabu.
