From practicing lawyer, she transitioned to become a family advisor on parenting and education issues, as well as an independent communicator: she has published more than 1,000 articles in blogs and media outlets, and runs a YouTube channel and podcast on Peaceful Parenting. She is also the screenwriter and director of the documentaries Custom Education (2015) and Respected Birth (2018).
Additionally, she teaches financial literacy classes for both children and adults.
In 2018, she received the Henry David Thoreau Award for her defense of freedom in general, and educational freedom in particular.
