Description
I love freedom and creative things, but what I dislike most is being forced to learn.
I enjoy writing in my diary. I love raising my hand to answer questions. I like chatting with my teacher.
I like playing funny tricks on Mom and Dad. I love teasing my cousin, Popcorn.
In this book's stories, life has suddenly become filled with so many fun and slightly awkward "firsts"! I’ve started having my own little secrets, tried hard to save up my allowance, experienced a few embarrassing moments at a classmate’s house, and even encountered some “weird happenings” at Grandpa’s home! I also came to realize how hard it is to earn pocket money and that getting angry isn’t always a bad thing… Every experience helps me grow just a little bit.
Each story is followed by a 30-second psychological comic, almost like hitting the fast-forward button on the little theater in my heart—teaching me how to recognize and accept both praise and criticism from teachers, how to use humor to ease awkwardness, how to ask others for advice, what to do when Mom and Dad hurt my feelings, what to pay attention to when visiting a classmate’s home, learning to forgive others, doing what I can to help at home, how to face up to broken promises, remembering to tell an adult promptly if a pet scratches or bites… and even how to slowly get closer to someone when I’m not in the mood to interact.
In this book, you'll see me grow from a slightly nervous little kid into a primary schooler who knows how to care for others, keeps promises, and bravely faces challenges. I hope that as you read, you'll laugh along with me and grow your own courage and wisdom too!
