Author
Training provider for the FSB, the Investigative Committee, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Prosecutor-General’s Office and the Federal Bailiff Service. Former combat & special-forces trainer for the Ministry of the Interior. Since 1993 he has advised state and non-state security bodies and authored psychological and polygraph-training manuals.
For 23 years he has predicted human behaviour in complex and extreme situations, including hostage crises and deception scenarios. His work is comparable to that of American psychologist Paul Ekman (the inspiration for the TV series “Lie to Me”). Spiryasa is both a committed follower of Ekman—holding that Ekman’s work is indispensable—and a sharp critic of some of Ekman’s conclusions, basing his objections on extensive research and field tests.
A frequent guest on television and in the press, he is a top-level expert in non-verbal behaviour, micro-expressions, business negotiations, HR and investment due-diligence. Banks and major corporations hire him for training and negotiation coaching. Tens of thousands of students in Russia and abroad follow his courses.
Author of the bestsellers “I See Through You: How to Read People” and “Don’t Lie to Me: The Psychology of Lies and Deception”, both reprinted many times. His new book “Neuro-Linguistic Programming: Technologies and Models of Hidden Influence and Protection” is scheduled for release this year.
