Description

In the north of Turambul lives the meanest woman in the world. She likes to punish her children when they misbehave… and also when they don’t. Everybody in the neighbourhood runs away from her. One day, the villagers decide to put an end to her nastiness in the most unexpected way.

Author

Francisco Hinojosa (Mexico City, 1954) is one of Mexico’s leading authors of children’s literature. Soon after completing his literature studies he began writing, first poetry, and later short stories and novels for children. In 1984, he was included in the IBBY Honour List for his book The Old Lady Who Ate People. In 2015, he was selected by Mexico’s National Council for Culture and Arts (CONACULTA) as the ambassador for the International Children’s and Young Adult Book Fair (FILIJ) to represent and promote children and young adult literature in Mexico.
