Review

“I came for the ‘rebellious little brother’ tag, but got healed by the warmth instead. Bai Yun acts tough, but he‘s genuinely attentive to Lan Tian. This younger wolf-pup type is so addictive.”
— Kuaikan Comics reader

“S-monkey’s art is warm and slice-of-life. The story doesn‘t have illogical angst for angst’s sake. The feelings develop gradually through daily meals and caring for animals. The tension between the younger top and older gentle bottom is perfectly balanced.”
— Comic critic

“I love the art style, and the physical books are beautifully made! Lan Tian is so gentle, and Bai Yun‘s eyes and contrast are captivating. A wonderful comic that brings healing through everyday life.”
— Vietnamese edition (Daisy Comics) reader

Description

Lan Tian is a veterinarian. Gentle by nature, rough in his own life, he is used to taking care of others. The softest spot in his memory belongs to the little neighbor boy from his childhood — Bai Yun — who lacked parental love and always clung to him. Back then, Bai Yun was sweet, introverted, and heartbreakingly endearing. Lan Tian gave him whatever warmth he could.
Years later, Lan Tian returns to his hometown and reunites with Bai Yun. The person standing before him is no longer that soft child. Bai Yun has grown taller, his gaze sharp, now a sharp-tongued, rebellious young man full of attitude. Lan Tian assumes this is a phase gone wrong. Out of a long-held sense of responsibility, he decides to take on the role of “disciplining” Bai Yun.
But Bai Yun does not need to be disciplined. What he needs is for Lan Tian to see him.
Bai Yun is now a professional chef. With excellent cooking and meticulous care, he makes the rough-living Lan Tian gradually dependent on him. He also uses Lan Tian‘s soft-heartedness and sense of responsibility to constantly test boundaries, deliberately making ambiguous moves to break the “brother” line. On the surface, he is the rebellious little brother who needs to be managed. In reality, he has been waiting for Lan Tian to face one thing — he stopped being a little brother a long time ago.
The story unfolds through their daily interactions. Lan Tian embraces and heals the shadows left by Bai Yun’s childhood, while Bai Yun uses his own way to pry open the shell Lan Tian habitually hides his feelings behind. This is a story about growth and mutual redemption. No one saves anyone — they walk out of the shadows of the past together.
