Review

“An adorable comic book starring everyone’s favorite panda cubs. The zoo becomes a kindergarten, the keepers turn into homeroom teachers, and Hehua, Heye, and their friends put on cute little outfits to play freely here—occasionally joined by ‘the Third Prince of Xizhimen’ (the affectionate nickname for the famous panda Menglan, known for his playful and charismatic personality). They are carefree angels enjoying happy moments, princesses with distinct personalities wandering through a fairy-tale world. In this little book, you’ll learn all about pandas’ daily lives and growth, and be utterly charmed and healed by their every move. PS: Perfect for parent-child reading!”

Feature

★ A heartwarming picture book that melts away stress! Pandas are a universally beloved symbol of cuteness, and the author has built an imaginative “bear universe” where panda cubs dress up, go to school, visit friends, and play like children. With over 3 million online views, this pure joy has proven its power to resonate across cultures.
★ The author spent a year meticulously refining this collection, which features over 300 hand-drawn panda illustrations and more than 30 whimsical mini-scenes. Each chapter includes a “cast list” and inside jokes for panda enthusiasts—making it both a delightful read and a treasured gift for panda lovers everywhere.
★ Three previously unpublished stories are featured, including 《The Distance of Growing Up》 about growth, and 《But You See, I’m Not So Fond of Dresses》 about self-acceptance. These gentle tales touch on emotions every modern person has felt: the uncertainty of growing up, the anxiety of not feeling “good enough,” and the longing to be seen paired with the fear of being judged.
★ “Hey you—if you’re tired, come play with your little bear friends for a while.”

Description

What if a universe just for pandas really existed?

Would Hehua and Heye go to school? Would they give their teacher a hard time? Would they chat with the “social butterfly” Menglan? Would they visit Yuanrun’s house? Would Mangzai leave Mangxiaowu at Ershun’s place so she could go have fun on her own? Would Yuanmeng, the “prince who returned from abroad,” hit it off with his new friends Reganmian (a playful name inspired by hot dry noodles, a beloved Chinese street food) and Danhonggao (inspired by a sweet baked snack) after coming back to Sichuan from France?

Freelance illustrator Dajiahao has brought all these imaginings to life with her brush.

In this little book, panda cubs are no longer just animals to observe from behind glass. They are “little bear friends” with their own personalities and lives, dressed in adorable clothes. They play in kindergarten, roam through fairy-tale worlds, and sometimes have small worries—like whether a dress really suits them, or how to navigate the distance that comes with growing up.

Set aside the rules of the adult world, step into this bear universe filled with healing magic, and be a pure, happy child once more.

Dajiahao
She is a freelance illustrator. Her pen name plays on the Chinese phrase “dà jiā hǎo,” which means “hello everyone”—a warm greeting that reflects the welcoming spirit of her work.
She enjoys watching panda videos in her free time to relieve stress, and over time, she developed the idea of creating stories for these “little bear spirits.” She hopes that her “panda mini-dramas” can bring a moment of lightness and warmth to weary souls in the city.
