Feature
★ The author, Fujiwara Hana, is a "veteran of a messy room," who resolved to change after losing her pension handbook, and is now a certified tidying consultant. She doesn't lecture; she first names the psychological knot behind "why you can't let go."
★ The book analyzes why people can't throw things away, and includes a "throw-away list" and a "pre-purchase checklist," so you can act the same day you read it, without waiting for "a day when you feel ready."
★ Tidying is not turning your home into a showroom, but reclaiming "a life of your own." This time, start with 5 things.
Description
Many things you want to do but can't bring yourself to act on—dieting and studying are like this, and so is decluttering.
Many people feel satisfied just reading a tidying book, yet still don't act; they know the method, but can't do it. The author of this book was once a veteran of a messy room; she teaches room-organizing methods to such readers in plain, easy-to-follow terms, and builds a comfortable, ideal home.
Starting from "throwing away 5 things a day," it introduces lazy-friendly tidying tricks and principles for deciding what to buy, so as long as you follow the steps in the contents, this time your room can be transformed.
Even people who are bad at tidying will, after reading, feel the urge:
· I want to tidy my room right now!
· Maybe I can get good at organizing too!
· After tidying, a wonderful life is waiting for me!
This is a decluttering book that fills you with anticipation and moves you to act.
Author
Because she lost her pension handbook (Japan's pension record book) in her room, she was shocked into deciding to tidy.
Using the workplace experience she gained at a listed company, she launched the "Goodbye Messy Room Project," practiced it herself, and succeeded in transforming her room—a veteran who came out of a messy room.
The experience left a psychological scar, and for a time she developed extreme tidying habits: no tissues or remote controls on the table, everything tucked into the closet; refusing to put anything on the floor.
She obtained her tidying consultant qualification, shares tidying tips and life in a clean room on X (formerly Twitter) and her blog, and offers hands-on decluttering coaching.
Her other work is "Treat Tidying as Project Management and Revive a Messy Room".
