Author

Arianna Papini is a multifaceted Italian creative—an author, illustrator, painter, educator, and art therapist—celebrated for her profound contributions to children's literature and art. Born in Florence, Italy, she pursued her passion for art and design by attending the Liceo Artistico and later graduating from the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Florence, where she presented a thesis on the design of game-books.

For a remarkable 25 years, Papini served as the editorial and artistic director of the publishing house Fatatrac, where she was instrumental in curating texts, selecting illustrations, and overseeing graphic projects for various publications.
As a prolific creator, she has authored and illustrated approximately 150 books, collaborating with several Italian publishers. Her works have garnered numerous accolades, including the prestigious Premio Andersen as Best Illustrator in 2018, the Silent Book Contest, the Premio Rodari, and the Premio Compostela.
Beyond her publishing achievements, Papini is dedicated to education and therapy. Since 2007, she has been imparting her knowledge of illustration at ISIA in Urbino and, since 2019, at the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples. She also teaches at the International School of Illustration in Sàrmede. Specializing in art therapy, she completed a four-year postgraduate program at the International School of Art Therapy in Bologna and conducts therapeutic workshops in her Florence studio, catering to individuals of all ages.

Papini's artistic influence extends internationally, with her books co-published in countries like France, Spain, England, Greece, Portugal, China, and Taiwan. She actively participates in numerous exhibitions, both solo and collective, showcasing her art across Italy and abroad. Camelozampa also published her picture books Before You Cut Down a Tree and Happiness Is a Simple Word.
