Feature
★ Building on the positive psychology concept of “flow,” the book ingeniously uses the metaphor of a river to encourage readers to move beyond a stagnant, “pond-like” mindset toward a state of continuous growth. By shifting our perspective amid life’s ebbs and flows—and even through adversity—we can embrace “flow” and embark on a path of positive development, actively creating meaning and well-being in the face of change.
★ Through concise, soothing chapters, this book sparks moments of insight and inspires action. Its collection of short essays offers clear, accessible guidance, drawing on the framework of positive psychology to help readers naturally navigate the growth process: recognize, reframe, and take action. In doing so, the openness, adaptability, and sense of direction embodied by a river are internalized as an active, proactive, and deeply meaningful way of living.
Description
The journey of life is like a river, ever-shifting with the tides and trials. We must shift our perspective, embrace new beginnings, and avoid stagnating in place like a pond. This book tells the story of just such a journey—overcoming personal obstacles.
