Feature
★ Author Ding Bohan has contributed to major national projects including the ceremonial platform design for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics closing ceremony and interior design research for China's manned lunar exploration spacecraft. The case studies in this book stem from deep collaborations and conversations with artisans and independent designers—making the logic and social empathy behind public-space design more accessible to readers.
★ The narrative follows two delightfully contrasting animal friends: Anteater "Xi Gua" and Ant "Pu Pu". Their playful, lighthearted adventures—featuring an unlikely friendship between natural predator and prey—beautifully illustrate the core design philosophy of empathy and perspective-taking.
★ Through abundant original sketches, iterative drafts, and side-by-side comparisons with final products, the book visually traces the full journey from a spark of inspiration to a tangible object. Design processes are presented as engaging mini-stories, allowing readers to grasp design principles while learning to observe closely, think critically, and tune into their own sensory experiences.

Description
In the "Home" section, the story unfolds across four domestic spaces: living room, bedroom, kitchen, and bathroom. Through Xi Gua and Pu Pu's interactions and dialogues in these settings, readers discover the thoughtful design behind familiar household objects.
In the "City" section, the duo steps outside the home and ventures into schools, hospitals, streets, supermarkets, and other public spaces—continuing their quest to decode the invisible design that shapes urban life.
The ultimate goal is to help readers understand the form and meaning of the things they touch and see every day—not just as passive users, but as future creators. These everyday encounters become both a foundation for professional creativity and a wellspring of inspiration for life's broader journeys.
