Description

Where was ancient China? What did ancient China look like? How to explore, touch, think, and remember ancient China…In the pieces of Jingdezhen Ming and Qing dynasties’ ancient kiln blue and white porcelain fragments, we could faintly see that clear water and green mountains, flying birds and running animals, plants and trees, pavilions, temples and shrines, sendai procession, the scene of children playing, the six arts of poetry and Calligraphy, comments on the state affairs… It is fragmentary, but still precious and beautiful. China of the Ming and Qing Dynasties was so vague, distant and untouchable that it gradually becomes clear through the patchwork of porcelain pieces in this book…

This book takes the patterns and characters on the blue and white porcelain pieces which are collected by the author as the main physical witness, comprehensively, systematically and stereoscopically presents the evolution of the painting style of Jingdezhen kiln blue and white porcelain, and shows the natural landscape and social life of China in the Ming and Qing dynasties.
