Description

★ Forensic Qin Ming's Underestimated Masterpiece ★
A Prescient Prophecy of the "Nth Room" Tragedy: Which is more terrifying—being watched, or being dead?

"To pry into a person's secrets is to control her life." I never believed in the lethality of that sentence until I received that mysterious phone call. After all, I was just a full-time housewife who spent most of her time at home, seeing no one but my husband.

However, that secret buried deep in my heart for so long—one too shameful to tell the world—was somehow discovered by a stranger without warning. As he spoke it word by word over the phone, I felt as if my skin were being flayed off, slice by slice... To protect my secret, I decided to meet him. When I woke up, I was in a place so dark I couldn't see my own hand. More terrifyingly, I was not alone.

During countless sleepless nights, sobbing and screams drifted from next door. They were manipulated like puppets, and I was next... When I was found again, I had become a broken, unidentified female corpse. The truth about my secret, my stolen life, and the serial disappearances...

All of it is hidden within the wedding ring held in my mouth. Find it, please... before the next girl's life is destroyed.

"Some say I have a jinx; after 'The Peeper' was first published, similar cases occurred in the real world. But I simply saw the possibilities when the dark side of human nature converges with technology."

Author Qin Ming has revised thousands of details from the original edition and newly authored a "Guide to Preventing Peeping" dedicated to loved ones, hoping to provide readers with cautionary preventive knowledge.

Contents

**Prologue**
The things she feared most were bathing and using the toilet. Every time she did so, she felt a pair of eyes watching her from behind.

**Case 1: The Ghost Ship**
The sound resembled someone groaning while their mouth and nose were covered, or perhaps a sinister sneer, or even the low growl of some beast. There was no one on deck! Where was the sound coming from?

**Case 2: The Crimson Twin Houses**
Eighteen wounds—some on the chest, some on the abdomen, and others on the back. Why was this killer so cruel as to inflict such violence on a five-year-old girl?

**Case 3: The Night of Disposal**
"Is this a corpse? Why is it so soft?" Several forensic doctors dragged the body ashore. Dr. Han manipulated the victim's arm; it seemed as if it could be bent into any angle imaginable.

**Case 4: The Misty Basement**
In a crude rented basement room lay a family of three. The mother and son were already dead, while the father was still undergoing emergency treatment at the hospital. None of the three had obvious wounds, but suspiciously, the mother was found completely naked.

**Case 5: Sunset Frenzy**
The sun had already set when the man noticed a glimmer of red light in the parking lot. He approached the strange car out of curiosity, only to be startled by a sudden, deafening blast. Thick smoke quickly billowed from the shattered windows, and there appeared to be someone still inside...

**Case 6: The Magic Coffin**
In order to solve a case from thirteen years ago, the forensic doctor decided to exhume the body for an autopsy. To everyone's surprise, when the coffin was opened, an extra set of skeletal remains was inside! Could this be the legendary "Ghost Marriage"?

**Case 7: Cold Corpse in the Heat**
Captain Cai crouched down and pinched the snakeskin bag on the ground. He jumped back, retreating several steps in shock. In this stifling, foul-smelling "black workshop," he was utterly unprepared for the long black hair protruding from the bag.

**Case 8: Just Like a Young Girl**
The corpse was placed on the autopsy table, where dark red lividity stood out starkly against the fair skin. The boy's face appeared to have been powdered, making it look even paler, which in turn made the smear of red on his lips even more jarring.

**Case 9: Mummified Corpse in the Barren Hills**
In most mummified corpses, though the eyeballs are shriveled and degraded, the boundary between the iris and the white of the eye is still visible. However, the eye sockets of this backpacker’s corpse were a mess, yet the outer skin showed no damage at all. Was there any beast that ate only eyeballs?

**Case 10: The Floating Cell**
The first floor of the small building was submerged, surrounded by a vast expanse of water. A large hole had been torn into the wall of the second floor, serving as the only exit to the outside world. Without a boat, escape was impossible—it was a natural cage!

**Epilogue: The Dark Quartet**
She seemed to be in a constant state of trance, conscious one moment and confused the next. If it were me, being forced to move corpses, I would surely go mad.

**Extra: Are You Being Watched?**
Although the "N-th Room" incident happened in South Korea, voyeurism is not far from us at all.
