Feature
★ One of the representative works of Jiu Xiaoqi, a popular romantic comedy writer in China! It continues the hilarious style and commercial success of her previous work, “Your Majesty, Please Behave with Dignity”.
★ The work has been adapted into a television drama titled “Love Is All” starring the highly popular young actors Zhang Ruonan and Zhang Haowei.
★ Its unique blend of “ancient-style romantic comedy” and “suspenseful detective stories” keeps readers on the edge of their seats one moment and laughing heartily the next; it was well-received by the public during its online serialization.
★ Another key attraction of this story is the dynamic relationship between its protagonists: a “county magistrate” who must conceal his identity and is intelligent yet restrained, and a clever, free-spirited “runaway bride writer” who makes a living by writing bestsellers. Their relationship begins as an employment arrangement filled with misunderstandings but gradually develops into a sweet partnership as they work together to solve cases.
Description
To put an end to this predicament, Tang Tianyuan decides to find “Miaomiao Sheng” in person. Meanwhile, Tan Lingyin, a young woman from a wealthy family who ran away from a arranged marriage, is actually the one behind these stories. The fictional adventures involving Tang Tianyuan that she writes are merely a means for her to make a living and express her imagination.
However, fate plays a role that exceeds both of their expectations. Instead of exposing Tan Lingyin, Tang Tianyuan receives a secret order from the emperor to become the magistrate of Tongling County and investigate the rampant gold smuggling activities in the area. Tan Lingyin, in search of a generous reward, ends up applying for a position as a clerk at the county government office. Having discovered her true identity, Tang Tianyuan uses this knowledge to his advantage: he hires her, planning to keep an eye on this “troublemaker” while also leveraging her local knowledge to assist in the investigation.
Thus, a comedic partnership comes into being. During their perilous quest to solve the gold smuggling case, the two are forced to spend time together day and night. Initially wary of each other and engaged in a battle of wits, they gradually come to be attracted by each other’s intelligence and sincerity. However, the shadow of Tan Lingyin’s past engagement, as well as rumors about a marriage arranged for Tang Tianyuan by his family, create misunderstandings and jealousy between them.
Just as their budding feelings begin to take shape and they are about to confess their true feelings, Tan Lingyin is suddenly kidnapped, and all clues point back to the mysterious gold smuggling case. Tang Tianyuan must race against time to unravel this devastating conspiracy and save the woman whose presence has already taken root in his heart. Can this encounter, which began with lies, ultimately lead to a happy ending once the truth is revealed?
