Description
1816 was a year without a summer. The eruption of a volcano in Indonesia, combined with one of the coldest years ever recorded, made so that the Northern hemisphere experienced a year without summer.
What's incredible is that the adverse conditions in which humanity found itself led to a series of events and discoveries that we wouldn't have today if there had been a summer in 1816, from the characters of Dracula and Frankenstein, to the invention of the bicycle.
