“What exactly is a perfect fried egg?!”
A ghost-shaped fried egg? A triangle-shaped fried egg?
An expensive fried egg? One made from eggs laid by the perfect chicken?!

Friends gather to celebrate the opening of Meow’s Restaurant. But while Chef Meow is away in the restroom, a customer arrives. “One perfect fried egg, please. Woof woof!” After taking the order, the woof-woof customer disappears, leaving the friends—who were preparing for the celebration—utterly bewildered. Soon, they begin pondering, “But what exactly is a perfect fried egg?” Each friend starts making their own version of the “perfect fried egg.” An incredibly huge fried egg? A well-done fried egg? A perfectly round one? A cheap but high-quality fried egg? One made from the perfect egg? Or one cooked by the perfect chef? Just as everyone is deep in thought, Chef Meow returns to the restaurant. To meet the woof-woof customer’s request, Chef Meow begins making the fried egg: selecting a fresh egg, cracking it into a perfectly heated pan, sprinkling a pinch of salt, and flipping it at just the right moment—voilà, a delicious fried egg is complete!

To the friends, the fried egg looks utterly ordinary, but the woof-woof customer leaves satisfied. Everyone starts the celebration party enjoying their own perfect fried eggs—except the rabbit friends, who aren’t eating. It turns out rabbits don’t eat eggs! Hearing this, the ant, squirrel, cat, child, and tiger all dash off somewhere and return with a surprise—special vegetable fried dishes! “Wow!! This is truly the perfect fry!” Finally, everyone has their own perfect fry that satisfies them. Please Give Me the Perfect Fried Egg uses a simple fried egg to showcase diverse perspectives on perfection, infused with author Boram’s uniquely whimsical and bouncing imagination to present a new idea of “perfection.”

A story where the dog, cat, and rabbit—
each with their own preferences—create their own perfect fried eggs!

When we usually think of “perfection,” we imagine something entirely flawless without a single shortcoming. Similarly, in Please Give Me the Perfect Fried Egg, the friends try to create various versions of what they consider the perfect fried egg to meet the woof-woof customer’s order, striving to find one that everyone can nod in agreement with.

The tiger and ant make an incredibly large fried egg and an extremely tiny one, respectively, relating to their sizes. The squirrel friends experiment with doneness, making fully cooked and soft-boiled fried eggs. The child uses molds to create fried eggs in various shapes. The rabbit friends suggest that a pricey egg or, conversely, a cheap but high-quality one might be perfect, or that perfection could depend on the time taken to make it. Yet, the dog customer—the one who ordered the “perfect fried egg”—considers a very ordinary fried egg perfect. And among all these variations, the rabbit friends couldn’t find one that suited them.

In Please Give Me the Perfect Fried Egg, no one has the same idea or standard for “perfection.” Nor do they impose or dismiss others based on their own criteria. Perfection is merely an individual standard, not a universal one. The dog, tiger, ant, squirrel, and others all have different opinions, showing how diversity makes things more perfect! What do you consider the perfect fried egg? With Please Give Me the Perfect Fried Egg, why not try making your own perfect fried egg for dinner tonight?

Author Boram’s Whimsical Imagination and the Lovable, Warm-hearted Characters Create a World of Understanding and Consideration!

The image of the cat dashing off to the restroom, leaving the restaurant in the friends’ hands, makes us anxious—what if a customer arrives? After the anticipated customer leaves, the friends’ bewildered faces say it all, and the sound of air deflating from the rabbit’s balloon—“psssh…”—is both adorable and amusing.

In Please Give Me the Perfect Fried Egg, author Boram’s sparkling imagination about “perfection” is complemented by the cute and lovable friends from her previous work, Escape from Mogadishu, making each scene a delight to behold. The tiger, with his rough exterior but warm heart; the ant, tiny yet brimming with presence on a friend’s head or the table; the squirrel, napping soundly yet sleep-talking with friends; the humble rabbit who uses polite speech with everyone; the mischievous child in watermelon-red and green clothes; and the skilled, responsible cat chef who springs to attention when a customer arrives—each character’s distinct personality adds to the fun! At the end of the story, the friends’ warm understanding and consideration—preparing vegetable fries like cherry tomato spinach fries and sweet potato apple fries for the rabbits who don’t eat eggs—touch readers’ hearts.

Dive into the charm of these adorable friends, each flaunting their unique personalities as distinct as their fried egg preferences. Following each scene with these lovable and captivating characters will make the story even more enjoyable!
