The protagonist is a girl named Alia who is preparing for the New Year’s performance. Unfortunately, a few days before the holidays, she wakes up in the morning to find herself covered in nasty red patches, her face swollen, her eyes itchy, and something runny coming from her nose. Alia is terribly frightened; she thinks she has turned into a monster. Alia's mother rushes her to the doctor. Of course, she hasn’t turned into a monster – she is having an allergic reaction. The doctor prescribes medicine, ointment, and other treatments for Alia to alleviate the allergy symptoms. However, to ensure she can participate in the New Year’s performance, Alia needs to understand what an allergy is and find the allergen that caused such a dramatic change in her body.

One in three people worldwide has an allergy, and generally, children are more susceptible. Since allergy symptoms are appearing at increasingly younger ages, often emerging during preschool years, it is very important to tell children early on what allergies are and how to respond when they notice certain symptoms. Young readers will learn about allergies through the perspective of the little girl, Alia. Using the genre of a scientific comic book, this book explains to children in an accessible and entertaining way what allergens are, why it’s important to be very careful when choosing food, medicine, and clothing, and why they need to pay close attention to their body’s reactions during the flowering periods of plants that can cause allergies, among other things.
