Silvia Burés (Barcelona) is an agronomist and has a PhD in horticulture from the University of Georgia. A teacher and researcher specializing in plant science, in 1997 she moved into business and currently directs Buresinnova, a company dedicated to innovative projects in horticulture, gardening and plant architecture. She introduced the technique of low-water or “xero” gardening into Spain and writes the gardening blog and advice section of La Vanguardia newspaper. She is the author of more than 200 scientific and educational articles, and of numerous gardening and horticulture books, and several novels.
