The richest soup and other stories brings together five stories that take place in the town of Villa Verde, the space where all the characters live and interact. The stories are apparently very simple, however, they offer readers a delicate literary experience woven from references, ways of naming the world, images and experiences of young children. This book also shares many elements with the comic. In fact, we could see it as a comic for very young children, where the author, Mariana Ruiz Johnson, has used nib and India ink and digital color to provide readers with images in warm colors and a very rich illustration work with thousands of details to the delight of readers.

The stories are putting together before the eyes of the reader, as if it were a puzzle, the daily life of each of the Villa Verde characters until, in the last story, we see everyone gathered in the middle of a celebration that not only speaks from the friendship and empathy that exists between them, but from the cooperation necessary to be able to make the great soup for everyone. The richest soup and other stories makes available to young children a book that encourages exploration, aesthetic experience and interaction with the codes of this type of book.
