Description

Space may be dangerous for humans, but it poses few threats to robots. Robotic astronauts need neither food nor drink to survive in space, and can withstand very inhospitable conditions. Very importantly, although robots are expensive to design and produce, it is far better to lose a robot in space that it is to lose a human. Both the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and the European Space Agency (ESA) have developed robots that can travel into space alongside people. One day, these robots may be able to travel into space on their own to find out more about our galaxy, and even the realms beyond it.
