Description

Ildefonso Cerdá, the founder of modern urbanism. As a forward-thinking person, he combined engineering and politics, and named the result after him: the Barcelona Expansion Project or the Cerdá Project. The living conditions of the urban working class in the era when he was born were extremely bad, so he devoted his life to creating a better and more livable environment for people. Despite the opposition from the people at the time, he designed a city based on his ideals of justice, equality and freedom. A clean, bright and green city: the city of the future.
