In order for society to function smoothly, we need fat and oil. This popular consumer product has long been industrially produced: palm oil has been the best-selling vegetable oil in the world market for many years. The demand and storage are huge, and the production costs are very low.
However, its production has had dramatic consequences: Due to increasing demand, tropical rainforests seem to be constantly being destroyed in order to grow palm trees. And is there anything other than the palm oil economy? It's not that simple, because many palm oil alternatives are equally harmful to humans and nature. For those who want to learn more about palm oil and control their personal consumption, this book will give them all the key information they need to know.
