Description
The comic’s protagonist is a pampered teenager from the 1990s. His father sends him to Orenburg for “re-education”—in other words, a kind of exile. Naturally, the protagonist feels discontented, disappointed, and deeply skeptical. On the plane, he meets a young man who lends him “The Captain’s Daughter” to read, only to vanish mysteriously during the flight. What fate awaits the protagonist in Orenburg? And how will Pushkin’s novel influence him?
Author
The father of Russian literature, a great Russian poet and novelist. “The Captain’s Daughter” is his classic historical novella, set against the backdrop of Pugachev’s Rebellion. It tells the love story between a young nobleman and the daughter of a frontier captain, blending historical depth with poignant emotion, and is a required reading in Russian primary and secondary schools.
[Comic Artist] Anaïs
