Feature

★ Using life stories as a poetic window to open children’s eyes to ecological awareness. From the whispered annual rings of a century-old oak tree and the eons-long rhythmic pulse of the ocean to the solitary parenting of a mother bear on a snow-capped peak, this picture-book series weaves a richly layered “narrative poem of Earth’s life” through three distinctly different natural perspectives. Each book transforms grand issues such as climate change and ecological balance into tangible, relatable life experiences through fictional first-person monologues, enabling children to grasp the fragility and resilience of the natural world within a poetic visual tapestry.
★ Each book is presented in a deluxe large-format hardcover edition complete with a poster, making it a collector’s item. The intricate details of plants and animals hidden within the illustrations echo the scientific clues embedded in the text, inviting parents and children to explore together and delve deeper into the themes. When children close the book, what stays with them is not just the story itself, but a profound sense of reverence for the interconnectedness of all living things.

The series currently comprises three titles: “I Am a Bear,” “I Am a Tree,” and “I Am the Ocean.”

Description

A picture book brimming with hope and poetry—a beautiful meditation on life and death—tells the story of a magnificent oak tree’s journey through time.
A century-old oak tree quietly recounts the remarkable twists and turns of its life—the fortunate coincidences that have allowed it to endure across the centuries. Now, this towering tree senses that its time is drawing to a close: the weight of passing years and the relentless erosion caused by global warming are slowly withering it away. Yet the oak accepts its impending death with calm and serenity, for its passing will mark the beginning of a new chapter, giving rise to countless lives in vibrant renewal.
