Author
Paul Kupperberg has written over 1,000 comic-book stories for companies such as DC Comics and Archie Comics, including titles featuring Superman, Peacemaker, Vigilante, Supergirl, The Doom Patrol, Bart Simpson, Scooby-Doo, and the Eisner- and Harvey-nominated “Life with Archie” series. In addition, he has created his own original characters, such as Arion, Lord of Atlantis, General, and Tachyon.
He has also created newspaper comic strips, crossword puzzles, coloring books, and activity books featuring Superman and Tom and Jerry for DreamWorks, and has written numerous fiction and nonfiction books for young adult readers, including the GLAAD-nominated and Scribe Award–winning novel “Kevin,” which is based on an Archie Comics character.
Paul is the author of the novels “JSA: Ragnarok” and “The Devil and Leo Persky,” as well as several works on the history of comics, including “Direct Commentary: A Self-Portrait by a Comic Book Creator,” “Direct Dialogue: Conversations with Bronze Age Creators at DC Comics,” “Direct Creativity: Creators Who Inspire Creators,” and “Frame by Frame: My Life in Comics.” He has also contributed to numerous original story anthologies, as well as anthologies featuring characters from Batman, Star Trek, Doctor Who, Alien, Planet of the Apes, and other popular franchises.
