Feature

★ The “Superhero Squad” IP, which has carried the faith of countless childhoods, is now fully adapted into a brand-new comic—bringing this classic franchise back to life with a fresh evolution! Expanding into boundless adventures within the original series’ world, it satisfies both longtime fans’ nostalgia and new readers’ passion.
★ Officially licensed by Tatsunoko Production! Tatsunoko’s other iconic IPs include timeless classics such as “The Brave Fighter of Legend,” “Macross,” and “Battle of Sky,” and they’ve also contributed to works like “Neon Genesis Evangelion.”
★ The Science Team Gatchaman IP is a sci‑fi OVA animated series co‑produced with Nippon Columbia in 1994, pioneering the concept of team‑based operations. It was the first to standardize the formula of a five‑member color‑coded squad, complete with transformation calls, combined mecha, and a mentor‑apprentice dynamic—directly influencing the narrative structures of team‑based franchises like “Aura Battler Dunbine,” “Super Sentai,” “Power Rangers,” and even “G‑Force.”
★ Listed on Fandom.com, the extensive and vibrant fan‑run encyclopedia co‑founded by Wikipedia’s co‑creator and leading figure in the global open‑knowledge movement, Jimmy Wales. If Wikipedia is the “encyclopedia,” then Fandom is an entertainment‑pop culture treasure trove encompassing information on every fictional universe.
★ Written by Cullen Bunn (Eisner Award nominee, creator of “Sixth Gun”), illustrated by Chris Batista (Marvel and DC’s go‑to artist), and inked by Sabrina Quintana (a dual‑homed talent in digital art and independent comics)—industry heavyweights join forces to set a new benchmark for both visuals and storytelling.
★ Recommended for ages 10 and up.

This series comes in two editions:
◎ Edition One: 2 volumes, approximately 150 pages each—“Gatchaman Vol. 1 Deluxe Edition” and “Gatchaman Vol. 2 Deluxe Edition”.
◎ Edition Two: 10 issues, about 34 pages per issue—ranging from “Gatchaman Comic: Issue #1” to “Gatchaman Comic: Issue #10.”

Description

“Science Team Gatchaman: The Classic IP” is making a powerful comeback!
The iconic anime has been reborn as an all‑new comic universe, returning in full force!
A five‑member avian superhero squad—Eagle, Vulture (or Condor), Swan, Swallow, and Owl—was once the cherished childhood hero of countless fans. Now, mechanical terror has swept across the globe, and top scientists are disappearing one after another. Humanity’s last hope remains… Science Team Gatchaman!
They face off in a life‑and‑death battle against the international terrorist organization Galactor. Strength, willpower, mecha—the limits are pushed to the extreme. And if they fall… who will step into their suits?
◎ This isn’t a reboot; it’s evolution.
Building on the original anime’s world, we’ve crafted an entirely new comic series. Under the same sky, the possibilities are endless! Fresh adventures, brand‑new characters, and cutting‑edge mecha will blossom into unprecedented stories, rooted in the familiar ground beloved by fans of the classic.
◎ A studio‑based writing model, unifying the narrative universe.
All creative teams collaborate closely, communicating seamlessly to weave a single, overarching storyline. At the same time, our team maintains licensed collaboration with Tatsunoko Production, honoring the core of the original work—for example, the characters’ origin stories remain untouchable—while enjoying full creative freedom to expand the world and reimagine the plot.
◎ Major debut: Team Beta makes its entrance!
In the main serialized arc penned by comic artist Cullen Bunn, the biggest twist is just around the corner: Dr. Nanbu has secretly assembled and activated “Team Beta”! The existence of this backup hero unit reveals a stark truth: Dr. Nanbu had long prepared for the possibility of the team’s failure or even total annihilation. And as these stand‑by heroes take the stage, the fate of the original squad will be tested like never before…
◎ More than just one plot.
Beyond the monthly serialized series, this project also plans to release limited‑edition specials, mini‑series, and other side stories, comprehensively expanding the Gatchaman comic universe.
