Description
A murder occurs at a rural equestrian club. The suspect turns out to be a horse named “Rock.”
When ranch girl Yoko (nicknamed Horse Rider) struggles to accept that Rock could be the real culprit, her retired racehorse Louis suddenly starts speaking and begins deducing the case.
Bizarre incidents keep occurring in the peaceful countryside, met by the partnership of a retired racehorse and a high school girl, challenging a series of mysteries together.
Author
Born in 1968 in Onomichi City, Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan. Graduated from Okayama University Faculty of Law. Japanese mystery writer known for his humorous style and locked-room mysteries. His representative work “The Deduction is After Dinner” won the 2011 Japan Bookstore Award and topped the annual bestseller list.
After resigning from a glassware company at age 26, Higashigawa spent eight years working part-time jobs while writing. He debuted in 2002 with “Lending You the Key to the Locked Room.” “The Deduction is After Dinner,” published in 2010, sold over 1.8 million copies within six months and was later adapted into a TV drama starring Sho Sakurai and Keiko Kitagawa. Multiple novels from his Suruga River City series and Koi Pool Academy Detective Club series have been adapted for film and television.
