★Snorybear is a story about dreamers. These are individuals who deeply experience life and are carried away by their fantasies, ideas, visions and plans. They dream of a beautiful and great life.
Although at first glance they do not seem to contribute to society, we really need them because their dreams and ideas can help us find a way and solutions in difficult situations. Therefore, we should not try to change dreamers or push them away, especially those who dream of a better and safer world in which we love each other and accept each other as we are.

Snorybear is a very famous bear. He is the biggest sleepyhead in the woods. And he snores so loud! There is no snorer in the whole world louder than Snorybear. His friend the fox wrote a book about him this summer, so now everyone knows about Snorybear. The members of the Snore Academy, who annually award a medal to the loudest snorer in the world, had also heard about Snorybear. They decided to visit his den and make sure that this bear deserved the medal.

However, just a few days before their arrival, Snorybear couldn’t fall asleep. He neither slept nor snored, and he didn’t even nap for a second. He just stared into the distance and repeated one word all day long: “Camomile… Camomile… Camomile…”

Snorybear and Camomile is the second story in a picture book series about the loudest bear in the world, who dreams the most beautiful dreams and snores the loudest snore. In this story, Snorybear will find himself in a big problem. He will fail at what he is best at and for which he is famous all over the world. In an exciting adventure, Snorybear’s friends will do everything they can to preserve his fame.

But is fame, recognition, awards, and the opinion and approval of others really that important in life? Is there anything more important? Could it be love?

Author: Jelena Pervan
Jelena Pervan was born in Split, Croatia. She started writing and publishing children’s stories in her teenage years and has studied journalism. Her professional journey started in writing for children’s web sites, radio, magazines and literary projects, but her true inspiration and passion were here literary workshops with children in libraries, kindergartens and elementary schools. She published her first picture book in 2012, at the age of 19. Since that she has published 17 children’s books, she is a member of the Croatian Society of Writers for Children and is an author of the most popular Croatian children’s book series about hygiene – Mrljek & Prljek.

Illustrator: Jelena Brezovec
Jelena Brezovec has a master’s degree in social studies. For a long time, drawing was just a hobby, until 2008 when she became a co-founder of the publishing house Evenio and decided to study digital illustration, with the focus on children’s illustration. So far, she has illustrated more than 40 picture books and many other publications. She is the winner of the Grigor Vitez “Bird” Award, a special praise from the children’s jury. She has illustrated the most popular children’s book series in Croatia – Mrljek & Prljek. Her illustrations have been part of many exhibitions throughout Croatia. She lives and works in Varaždin, Croatia.
