Feature

★ Spanning 2,600 years of scientific exploration, from Aristotle's optical philosophy to CERN's antimatter experiments, this book showcases how groundbreaking discoveries such as the measurement of the speed of light and quantum mechanics have reshaped human understanding.
★ Unveiling the inside story of Einstein's Nobel Prize win, Galileo's experimental predicaments, and other vivid anecdotes from the history of science, it blends personal stories with hard-core knowledge.
★ Friendly for beginners! It interprets abstract theories like the photoelectric effect in plain language, without complex formulas, transforming the mysteries of the laboratory into a journey of worldview innovation accessible to the general public.

Description

This essay explores the history of light, from Aristotle to modern physics. After the great advances of the 18th and 19th centuries, we arrive at quantum mechanics, with concrete examples such as the photoelectric effect, which allowed Einstein to win the Nobel Prize. There is no shortage of attempts to measure the speed of light, from Galileo to Michelson, which lay the foundations for modern understanding. And again, the creation of antimatter atoms in the laboratories of CERN ― once science fiction, now experimental reality.

The essay also offers biographical curiosities about the protagonists of these discoveries, and is perfect for those who do not have a specialized background in physics, but are intrigued by the science that has changed the way we see the world.
