Foreword
In recent years, our employment landscape has suddenly turned harsh. Fierce competition, severe "involution," mass layoffs at major corporations, hiring freezes at smaller firms, and shrinking market demand have collectively intensified job-seeking pressures while diminishing upward mobility. These conditions create an undeniably hostile environment for professionals — especially newcomers to the workforce. Anxiety, unease, helplessness, confusion—these negative emotions arrive in waves. With skills stagnating and incomes frozen, we find ourselves trapped in a career impasse.
So how do we break through?
Replication stands as the most practical and efficient tool.
Why replicate? In order to learn more efficiently and to transform into a better version of ourselves. When we are stuck in one place due to the overall environment or various factors, learning from those who are more excellent will become one of the best ways to break through barriers and open up channels for advancement. It can help us achieve a significant improvement in our work abilities, thereby changing our unsatisfactory situation and achieving social mobility based on our current foundation.
This book contains no abstruse professional terms or flawless arguments and evidence. Instead, there are more suggestions and methods. At the same time, in order to more vividly present the implementation process of these methods, you can also see many real cases that have been organized based on real events. Through these cases, we can understand that when facing the same problems, what choices those people who started a step earlier than us made and what approaches they took.
Among them, there are people from ordinary families who graduated from ordinary schools and became middle and senior managers in enterprises through hard work; there are small business owners, professional managers in multinational companies, and professionals who run companies with technology. Their family backgrounds, educational levels, growth environments, and workplace positions are all different, but the only thing they have in common is their characteristic of continuously learning and actively pursuing excellence.
All their examples come from daily work and address specific problems that we are very likely to encounter in our jobs. The problems we face may be different in details or background environments compared to theirs, but the essence remains the same. All problems have solutions, but different outcomes will arise due to the different levels of understanding of the people solving them.
We draw on the experience of many senior colleagues in the workplace and refer to their thinking. First, it is to achieve an improvement in the cognitive level, and then to replicate their behavioral patterns. When a problem arises, the first thing we need to replicate before thinking of a solution is the attitude of those excellent people in solving problems — no shirking or escaping, only facing and confronting, thinking and solving. Once we take the most difficult first step, we will find that the subsequent matters are not as difficult as we imagined. Many seemingly insurmountable mountains actually only exist in our imagination.
It needs to be emphasized that the first step in replication is to find a correct target for replication. Can the other person's work experience, methods of dealing with matters, operational models, and core concepts help us get out of the current predicament or solve problems that may arise in the future? Can they help us open up a path for promotion? Can they bring us benefits in the shortest possible time?
Therefore, before establishing a complete problem-solving system of our own, let's start with replication. Through replication, we can explore, improve, and transform, and eventually make others' experiences our own. "A stone from another mountain can be used to polish jade." Using the experience of our predecessors, we can overcome our own restlessness, relieve our anxiety, and gradually shape ourselves into something better. Eventually, we can carve out a place for ourselves in the workplace, achieve financial freedom, and realize a true leap in life.
