Description

Nora is a thirty-four-year-old woman who, after achieving the pinnacle of control in her life, becomes convinced she has lost it all. Her partner suggests they take a break, the plants in her home thrive without her care, and her cat seems to be living its best life as if she doesn’t exist.
Evidently, all the effort she has poured into life—from adolescence to this early stage of adulthood—has served more to manage the subterranean flow of her constant anxiety than to improve the world around her. All her obsessive control has turned out to be fundamentally pointless, a placebo that has required far too much effort.
Only after this realisation does Nora allow herself to embrace chaos, immersing herself in loss, dreams, randomness, and madness. Letting go of the obsession with managing everything, including love, Nora discovers something far less defined, more comfortable, and enveloping. At first, it felt like an old sofa, but then she realised—it was life, just as it comes.
