★With additional information bubbles
★Well-researched by author and biologist Babette Pribbenow

Description

Did you know that there are animals that use surprising nips and tricks in order to protect themselves from enemies or in order to make easy prey?
The harmless hoverfly, for example, pretends to be a dangerous wasp and the leafy seadragon disguises itself as a torn leaf.
In the case of mimesis , animals are camouflaged extremely well and can hardly be distinguished from their surroundings, like a chameleon or the octopus.
There are even plants that look like animals, the woodcock orchid’s blossom, for example, looks like a female bee and attracts male longhorn bees which helps the orchid to get pollinated.
This fascinating non-fiction picture book introduces beings all over the world that trick, deceive and camouflage.
